BG GAME START, NON FIRST-TURN PLAYER

~ continued ~

If you are not the first player to move, you will be presented with the "End of Play-By-E-Mail local control" message seen below on your battle screen. Click either the "OK" or "X" button.

You will then be presented with the "Save As" window, which will ask you to save the battle file with a name of your choice. The window will also display any other file names which you may have saved previously. Note that in this example the two previous file names are preceded by two exclamation (!) points. This is a good practice to adopt as it lifts you game files to the top of the file order within the game folder and makes them easy to access and select. After you have named your file, click the "Save" button.

The game is now properly formatted for a PBEM contest. Click "OK" on the "PBEM Message" window to close out the turn. Then send the turn on to your opponent.

When you have received the file back from your opponent, you will be able to play your first turn. When you have cycled through the replay of your opponent's turn and are engaged with making your own movements, you must make certain to check the PBEM Encryption selection from the "Options" pulldown menu. Having this selection made will prevent your opponent from incidentally viewing your troop positions, as it will allow you to lock your screen with your own password.

As soon as you have advanced your turn to its next phase, you will be presented with the "Key Dialog" window (Rebel player in this example), which will have you enter a personal password to protect your game file.

After you have completed the last phase of your turn and have activated the "Next Phase" tollbar button for the final time, the battle screen will again display the "End of Play-By-E-Mail local control" message and you wiil press the "OK" button.

The game is now fully formatted for a PBEM contest. Click "OK" on the "PBEM Message" window to close out the turn.
