Service Awards
	Washington Medal of Merit Not actually a Union Award, this medal is awarded by the ACWGC Cabinet to members of both sides who have made major contributions to the ACWGC that assists the club. It is shown here for information and download purposes.
	Defender of the Union awarded by the CoA with approval of the Theater Commanders for service above and beyond the call of duty. 20 OBD (Note: The DoU replaces the formerly used American Civil War versionof the Medal of Honor, which is rightly, unreservedly and separately heldin the highest respect and reverence by the members of the ACWGC Union Army.)
	Outstanding Service Medal awarded by the CoA for extraordinary service in support of the Union Army. 20 OBD
	Exemplary Service Medal awarded by the Army Commander, to those officers who signficantly contribute to the support of the Union Army. (Note: The ESM replaces the former ACWGC Distinguished Service Order whose UK namesake is given for actions in combat.) 15 OBD
	Honorable Service Medal awarded at the discretion of the Army Commander to those officers who contribute to the support of the Union Army. 10 OBD
	Union Academy Instructor Medal awarded to any Instructor who successfully graduates a cadet.   Additional awards with honors as noted below.
	Union Academy Instructor Medal - 5 Cadets   Union Academy Instructor Medal - 10 Cadets   Union Academy Instructor Medal - 15 Cadets   Union Academy Instructor Medal - 20 Cadets   Union Academy Instructor Medal - 25 Cadets   Union Academy Instructor Medal - 30 Cadets   Union Academy Instructor Medal - 35 Cadets   Union Academy Instructor Medal - 40 Cadets   Union Academy Instructor Medal - 50+ Cadets
	Theater Medal - East awarded by the Army Commander upon assignment to an Army. A single bronze Star will be added for each campaign game an officer completes a Battle scenario in the DoR. An officer who gains a Bronze Star in all campaign games in a Theater will receive a Gold Star. The Theater Medal for the theater an officer is not assigned to is earned when he completes a Battle scenario in a game in that Theater. The first Minor and Major Victory in a Battle that qualifies for a Bronze Star earns. Major Victory 10 OBD. Minor Victory 5 OBD.
	Theater Medal - West awarded by the Army Commander upon assignment to an Army. A single bronze Star will be added for each campaign game an officer completes a Battle scenario in the DoR. An officer who gains a Bronze Star in all campaign games in a Theater will receive a Gold Star. The Theater Medal for the theater an officer is not assigned to is earned when he completes a Battle scenario in a game in that Theater. The first Minor and Major Victory in a Battle that qualifies for a Bronze Star earns. Major Victory 10 OBD. Minor Victory 5 OBD.

Theaters of War. Two Theaters of War are recognized in the ACWGC: Eastern Theater and Western Theater. Both Theaters roughly correspond to the US military theaters in 1864. The Trans-Mississippi Department is considered part of the Western Theater.
Western Theater: JTS/WDS named campaigns Atlanta Chickamauga Corinth Franklin Ozark Shiloh Vicksburg Forgotten Campaigns	Eastern Theater: JTS/WDS named campaigns. Antietam Chancellorsville Gettysburg Overland Peninsula Petersburg Shenandoah
