Post by Joe Meyer »

What was the name of Major General John A. "Black Jack" Logan's magnificent, black war horse?

Sir! I must agree with Gen. Walter. Unlike your first brainteaser, this one was instantly anwerable from a simple internet search:
"Maj. Gen. John A. Logan - "S.....r" - ridden into battle by Logan and depicted by an artist as dashing along a line of battle with all four feet off the ground."

The site I used:
searched for "civil war horses".

"SLASHER" it is!

Yes, there are some good sites out there that provide good information on the war horses of the Civil War.

Gentleman:
Also, came across this reference:
"Logan's was appropriately called 'Slasher'"
