August 16, 2011

ATTENTION!! BRIGADES!

It has come to my attention that one officer of the AotT failed to muster in August. Therefore I am compelled to amend the August Report as follows:

It is my pleasure to present the August, 2011, Monthly Report of the Union Army of the Tennessee.

STRENGTH: As of this date this field army has attached to it an aggregate of forty-four officers. Of these, forty are present. Each of these forty have answered the August Muster giving the AotT a 97% rate of effectives. The balance of the AotT aggregate consists of Lieutenant David Earls, assigned to the Detached Ninth Division, Lieutenant Colonel (P) Andreas Trommel, who is assigned to the AotT Hospital, and two officers on Leave of Absence (General Thomas Callmeyer and Brigadier General Paul Brennan).

PROMOTIONS:

Col. (P) Ray Matthews, 3(1st) Cavalry Division, XV Corps has earned sufficient OBD Points to merit promotion to Brigadier General pending Cabinet approval.

Brigadier General (P) David Elkin, 3(2nd) Cavalry Division, XVI Corps has earned sufficient OBD Points to merit promotion to Major General pending Cabinet approval .

SPECIAL PROJECTS:

1) The “Western Fireworks,” tournament between the AotM and the AotT, continues with the AotM enjoying a substantial lead over the AotT. Of the 26 battles being contested 13 have been completed. The AotM has scored 6 Major Victories and 2 Minor Victories against 3 Major Victories for the AotT. There has been 1 Draw and one game incomplete due to the resignation of a Confederate officer from the ACWGC.

2) The AotT has initiated a new training program called the "School of the Soldier" in its 'Eagle's Perch' Forum. I started this program to further instruct the members of the AotT after learning from a Confederate officer of certain deficiencies in the training and warfighting skills of some AotT officers. The AC's first article on maintaining Command and Control over subordinate units is still pending. However, two officers have already started a discussion in the forum on the use of artillery in defense.

3) The AotT is conducting a review of the training of its officers after I learned that an officer, who has been with the club for several years, did not know how to register games or how to report the results of his games. Clearly our assumptions concerning how well our officers understand the workings of the ACWGC need to be examined.

AUGUST MUSTER:

1) The army conducted its twentieth Muster Call since its January, 2010 reorganisation this month with forty of forty-one officers listed as present responding, recording a 97% Muster Report return rate.

2) Lt. Col. (P) Trommel has completed his first month assigned to the AotT Hospital despite repeated attempts made to contact him.

3) Lt. David Earls is considered Out of Contact and is assigned to the Detached Ninth Division.

ARMY VACANCIES:

There are currently five brigade vacancies within the AotT OOB; two vacancies in XV Corps and three vacancies in XVI Corps.

The AotT Chief of Staff position is vacant.

EAGLE DIVISIONS: Five of the six of the Army’s divisions turned in 100% Muster Returns this month, and the following records have been noted:

Maj. Gen. Stefan Reuter’s Second Infantry Division – Ninth consecutive and Seventeenth overall effort.

Colonel Ray Matthews' Third (2nd Cav) Division, XV Corps-Third consecutive and Twelfth overall effort.

Out of 32 Actions (2 UMA Training Sessions and 30 Battles), the AotT won 12 MAJOR VICTORIES and 1 MINOR VICTORY. Confederate forces gained 7 MAJOR VICTORIES and 6 MINOR VICTORIES against the AotT. There were 4 DRAWS..
