It is my pleasure to present the June, 2011, Monthly Report of the Union Army of the Tennessee.

STRENGTH: As of this date this field army has attached to it a total of forty-four officers of who forty are active. One officer, Major (P) Roberto Sanchez, has been assigned to the detached Ninth Division, and one other officer, Lieutenant Colonel (P) Andreas Trommel, has entered his second month assigned to the detached Ninth Division. Two officers are on Leave of Absence (General Thomas Callmeyer and Brigadier General Paul Brennan).

PROMOTIONS:

No officers in the AotT have earned enough OBD points to merit promotion in the month of May.

Both Lt. Col. (P) Andreas Trommel and Major (P) Roberto Sanchez have yet to make their recent promotions official by accessing the Department of Records.

SPECIAL PROJECTS:

1) Assistant Adjutant General Lt. Col. Einar Jon Masson has developed a series of easy to read Union Orders of Battle (OOB’s) for numerous HPS Battles. These OOB’s should prove to be useful in helping Union players to keep track of command relationships in HPS battles. I am trying to determine the best way to make these OOB’s accessible to AotT members.

2) I have been working with General Strickler of the AotM to initiate a tournament between our armies. To date, the AotT is fielding 19 participants. The projected dates of the tournament will be from July 4 through September 5.

JUNE MUSTER:

1) The army conducted its eighteenth Muster Call since its January, 2010 reorganisation this month with forty of the forty-one “available” officers responding, recording a 97% Muster Report return rate.

2) The detached Ninth Division currently lists two officers, Major (P) Roberto Sanchez and Lt. Col. (P) Andreas Trommel. Colonel Dan Macnamara has been reinstated having regained contact after failing to answer the May Muster. Attempts to contact the OOC officers have been made and regular contact attempts will be continued. With no reply from these officers it is, of course, difficult to determine their actual welfare.

ARMY VACANCIES:

There are currently five brigade vacancies within the AotT OOB; one vacancy in XV Corps and four vacancies in XVI Corps.

The AotT Chief of Staff position is vacant. Brigadier General John Sheffield (2/XVI) has determined that he will not have time enough to devote to the Chief of Staff position.

EAGLE DIVISIONS: Five of the Army’s six divisions turned in 100% Muster Returns this month, and the following records have been noted:

Brig. Gen. Jeffrey McDonald’s First Infantry Division, XV Corps - Fourth consecutive and Twelfth overall effort.

Maj. Gen. Stefan Reuter’s Second Infantry Division – Seventh consecutive and Fifteenth overall effort.

Colonel Ray Matthew’s Third (2nd Cav) Division, XV Corps-First consecutive and Tenth overall effort.

Brig. Gen. John Sheffield’s Second Infantry Division, XVI Corps – Eleventh consecutive and Fifteenth overall effort.

Brig. Gen. David Elkin’s Third (2nd) Cavalry Division, XVI Corps - Tenth consecutive and Fourteenth overall effort.

BATTLE REPORT: May 2011 proved to be a bad month for the arms of the Army of the Tennessee. Out of 27 Actions (25 Battles, 1 Maneuver and 1 UMA Training fight) the AotT won 5 MAJOR VICTORIES earning Battlefield Ribbons and 2 MINOR VICTORIES (One of these Minor Victories was a Maneuver between Colonel Ray Matthews and Lieutenant Len Hermer). Confederate forces were able to score 12 MAJOR VICTORIES and 2 MINOR VICTORIES against the AotT. There were 4 Draws. There is one Battle not accounted for in these figures. A Multi-player battle was concluded consisting of Two Confederate Players on one side and Brig. Gen. Pete Russo partnered with a third Confederate Player on the other side. I am not counting this battle in the AotT Statistics.

Battle Ribbons for Major Victories:

Lt. Col. Aleksander Krolikowski (HPSCS Shiloh) and for (HPSCF Spring Hill).
Lieutenant General Ian Miller (HPSCG Gettysburg)
Brigadier General David Elkin (HPSCH Perryville)
Brigadier General Ken Jones and Major General John Lytwak for a Multi-player Major Victory (HPSCN Antietam)

Major Victories not meriting a Battlefield Ribbon: NONE

Minor Victories:

Lieutenant Len Hermer (HPSCG Cavalry Skirmishes) (Maneuver)
Colonel Ray Matthews (HPSCG Skirmishes near Gettysburg)

My compliments, Lieutenant General Petertjohn, for a thorough and very complete report! Though the battlefield results were less than sterling, this field army continues to be an excellent and very responsive organization!
