Jeff, as custom demands, you are on the hook for the first round of all celebratory drinks. I will be happy to salute you with a tall, refreshing beer!

By ancient custom (Or because I say so, take your pick!) a promoted officer pays for his promotion party with the difference in one month's pay between his old rank and his new rank. Considering the considerable difference between BG and MG, this party may prove to satisfy the prodigious appetites of both General Meyer AND General McQomish!

General Meyer and I shall undertake a full assessment during the party. If required we will change the club regulations to two months worth pay difference - which is in my view more of a fair sort of arrangment. But the proof will be in the affect after the party
