AotT Monthly Army Report, May 2011
May 20, 2011

It is my pleasure to present the May, 2011, Monthly Report of the Union Army of the Tennessee.

STRENGTH: As of this date this field army has attached to it a total of forty-four officers: forty active, two to the detached Ninth Division, and one on Leave of Absence. In addition, one officer, Brigadier General Paul Brennan, assigned to the AotT Hospital, is in the process of being discharged.

PROMOTIONS:
Lt. Col. (P) Andreas Trommel still has yet to make his promotion to Colonel official by accessing the Department of Records. Additionally, Lt. Col. (P) Trommel has failed to answer the April Muster and has been assigned to the Detached Ninth Division.
Major Allen Neil has earned promotion to Lieutenant Colonel
Major Einar Jon Masson has earned promotion to Lieutenant Colonel.
Major Roberto Sanchez has earned promotion to Lieutenant Colonel
Brigadier General Jeffrey McDonald has been recommended for promotion to Major General and is waiting Board Approval.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: AotT Chief Engineer, Brigadier General Dave Elkin and Major General Brent Horrocks 3(2Cav)/XVI/AotT have completed their joint project to develop simple instructions for loading HPS games onto Windows 7. The final product has been posted in the Eagle's Perch and shared with all Union Army Commanders. I hope that this checklist proves useful to all officers joining the ACWGC.

MAY MUSTER: The army conducted its seventeenth Muster Call since its January, 2010 reorganisation this month with forty of the forty-one “available” officers responding, recording a 98% Muster Report return rate.

The detached Ninth Division currently lists two officers, Lt. Col. (P) Andreas Trommel and Colonel Dan Macnamara as Out-of-Contact. One officer, Brig. Gen. Paul Brennan, is assigned to the AotT Hospital pending approval for his discharge by the Western Theater Commander and the Union Army GinC. Attempts to contact these OOC officers regularly have been made and will be continued. With no reply from these officers it is, of course, difficult to determine their actual welfare.

ARMY VACANCIES:

There are currently five brigade vacancies within the AotT OOB. Two vacancies in XV Corps and three vacancies in XVI Corps.

The AotT Chief of Staff is vacant. Brigadier General John Sheffield (2/XVI) has agreed to perform as the Army's Acting Chief of Staff for a period of time before deciding if he wants to accept the position full time.

EAGLE DIVISIONS: Five of the Army’s six divisions turned in 100% Muster Returns this month, and the following records have been noted:

Brig. Gen. Jeffrey McDonald’s First Infantry Division, XV Corps - Third consecutive and Eleventh overall effort.

Maj. Gen. Stefan Reuter’s Second Infantry Division – Sixth consecutive and Fourteenth overall effort.

General Chuck Jensen's First Infantry Division, XVI Corps-1st (Cav) Division-First consecutive and Thirteenth overall effort.

Brig. Gen. John Sheffield’s Second Infantry Division, XVI Corps – Tenth consecutive and Fourteenth overall effort.

Brig. Gen. David Elkin’s Third (2nd) Cavalry Division, XVI Corps - Tenth consecutive and Fourteenth overall effort.

NOTE: Lieutenant General Mike Dowling’s XVI Corps has achieved a 100% muster rate for the 12th time since the reorganization of the Army of the Tennessee.

BATTLE REPORT: The Army of the Tennessee concluded Forty actions during the month of April. Twenty-Eight of these actions were battles and two were UMA Training Exercises. Ten of these battles resulted in AotT MAJOR VICTORIES, four of these ten meriting battle ribbons. There were Seven MINOR VICTORIES for the AotT and Seven DRAWS. The Rebels scored Nine Major Victories and Five Minor Victories against us allowing the AotT to maintain its edge over the Secessionists..

Battle Ribbons for Major Victories:
Lt. Col. Aleksander Krolikowski (HPSCN 1st Bull Run), (HPSCN 2nd Bull Run) and for (HPSCV 14 Mile Creek).
Major General Stefan Reuter (HPSCH Chickamauga)
