BG Elkin assumes command of 3(2Cav)/XVI

Gentlemen of the Army of the Tennessee and General McOmish,

I am pleased to announce that the Western Theater Commander and the Union Army GinC have approved the elevation of Brigadier General David Elkin to the command of 3(2Cav)/XVI. The official date for the assumption of command will be April 28, 2011.

This comes, in no small part, due to the ringing endorsement of General McOmish recently posted on this forum. No doubt some of you will hesitate to line up at the Tavern Bar on Easter Sunday. However, considering that General Elkin will open his purse and that General McOmish still has access to General Meyer's tab; I suspect there will be more than enough grog left over on Monday for those who still have scruples and livers!
