Notice of Promotion: Lt. Colonel Zafer Ejder

Gentlemen of the Army of the Tennessee,

With the kind permission of Major General Peterjohn, C.O.S. / AotT. I issue the following
communication;

This dispatch is to serve notice that Major Zafer Ejder 5/2/XVI has been deemed qualified
and worthy by the Congress of the United States to be promoted to the rank of
Lieutenant Colonel.

It was only thirty one days ago that I was giving notice of this officer's promotion to
Major. He has scarcely had the time to affix his new insignia and now must change
once again. A rising star for sure.

Gentlemen please join with me and offer your congratulations to Lt. Col. Ejder.

They came walking right up to my prepared lines in those trees and literally tried to throw themselves across the breatworks! A most remarkably arrogant people. I remember one particular Reb major who was carrying a violin of all things, and he kept pointing the bow at our lines until...
