ATTENTION!! BRIGADES!

Gentlemen,

It is my pleasure to present the March, 2016 Monthly Report of the Union Army of the Tennessee.

STRENGTH: This month the AotT conducted its Seventy-fifth muster since its reorganization in January 2010. As of this date, this field army has attached to it an aggregate of Thirty-eight officers. Of these, thirty-seven officers are present for duty. Of the thirty-seven officers present for duty, all thirty-seven answered the March muster giving the AotT a 100% rate of effectives.

OFFICERS RETURNED TO DUTY:


LEAVE OF ABSENCE:

Lt. Col. Carlos Tosca has requested a six month Leave of Absence due to personal requirements on his time. I have granted this Leave of Absence effective October 8, 2015 with an end date of April 8, 2016.

PROMOTIONS:

Col. (P) Derek Hampel has earned sufficient OBD points for promotion to Brigadier General.

ARMY VACANCIES:

There are currently and fourteen brigade command vacancies within the AotT OOB.

a) All six of the 7th Reserve Brigades are vacant.

b) The remaining vacancies include:

1) 1st Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, XV Corps
2) 3rd Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, XV Corps
3) 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, XV Corps
4) 4th Cavalry Brigade, 3(1Cav) Cavalry Division, XV Corps
5) Horse Artillery Brigade, 3(1Cav) Cavalry Division, XV Corps
6) 4th Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, XVI Corps
7) Artillery Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, XVI Corps
8) 4th Cavalry Brigade, 3(2Cav) Cavalry Division, XVI Corps



EAGLE DIVISIONS: All six of the AotT divisions turned in a 100% Muster Return this month. The following records have been noted:


Maj. Gen. Jeff McDonald’s First Infantry Division, XV Corps: Tenth Consecutive, Fifty-eighth overall effort.

Col. Derek Hampel’s Second Infantry Division, XV Corps, Twenty-fourth Consecutive, Sixty-seventh overall effort.

Col. Maxime Yvelin’s Third Cavalry Division (1 Cav), XV Corps: Ninth Consecutive, Fifty-ninth overall effort.

General Chuck Jensen’s First Infantry Division, XVI Corps: Thirty-eighth Consecutive and Sixty-fifth overall effort.

Maj. Gen. John Sheffield’s Second Infantry Division, XVI Corps: Twenty-sixth consecutive and Sixty-fourth overall effort.

Col. Rich Miskinis’ Third Cavalry Division (2Cav), XVI Corps; Sixth Consecutive and Sixty-fourth overall effort.




BATTLE REPORT:

The AotT completed 12 actions in February 2016. 11 of these actions were BATTLES and 1 was a MANEUVER. Of the 11 BATTLES, the AotT gained 3 MAJOR VICTORIES and 1 MINOR VICTORY. Confederate forces also gained 3 MAJOR VICTORIES and 1 MINOR VICTORY. There were 3 DRAWS.


BATTLEFIELD RIBBONS FOR MAJOR VICTORIES:

Maj. Gen. John Sheffield won a Battlefield Ribbon for his victory at 2nd Bull Run. (HPS Antietam, scenario 078, 2nd Bull Run v.7, 84 Turns)

Brig. Gen. Zafer Ejder won a Battlefield Ribbon for his victory at the Wilderness. (JTS Overland, scenario 105-640505, Wilderness_21, 97 Turns)



MAJOR VICTORIES NOT MERITING BATTLEFIELD RIBBONS:

Lt. Gen. David Elkin won a Major Victory near Vicksburg. (HPS Vicksburg, 29 turns)



MINOR VICTORIES:

Brig. Gen. Setphen Trauth gained a Minor Victory at Cedar Mountain. (HPS Antietam, “Cedar Mountain,” 1st Battle of the Campaign).
