ATTENTION!! BRIGADES!

Gentlemen,

It is my pleasure to present the October, 2015 Monthly Report of the Union Army of the Tennessee.

STRENGTH: This month the AotT conducted its Seventieth muster since its reorganization in January 2010. As of this date, this field army has attached to it an aggregate of Thirty-eight officers. Of these, thirty-five officers are present for duty. Of the thirty-five officers present for duty, all thirty-five answered the October muster giving the AotT a 100% rate of effectives.


RETIREMENTS: NONE


DISCHARGES: NONE


RESIGNATIONS: NONE


OFFICERS RETURNED TO DUTY: NONE


LEAVE OF ABSENCE:

1) Maj. Gen. Ray Matthews, 3(1Cav)/XV, is on a 6 month Leave of Absence at his own request. He is due to report back to active service on December 15, 2015.
2) Lt. Col. Carlos Tosca has requested a six month Leave of Absence due to personal requirements on his time. I have granted this Leave of Absence effective October 8, 2015 with an end date of April 8, 2016.



OUT OF CONTACT:

Brig. Gen. Charles Babb did not answer the October 2015 Muster and has now been MISSING for four full months. Consequently, he is now assigned to the AotT Hospital.

ARMY VACANCIES:

There are currently fifteen brigade vacancies within the AotT OOB.

a) All six of the 7th Reserve Brigades are vacant.

b) The remaining brigade vacancies include:

1) 1st Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, XV Corps
2) 3rd Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, XV Corps
3) 3rd Infantry Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, XV Corps
4) 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, XV Corps
5) 5th Cavalry Brigade, 3(1Cav) Cavalry Division, XV Corps
6) Horse Artillery Brigade, 3(1Cav) Cavalry Division, XV Corps
7) 4th Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, XVI Corps
8) Artillery Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, XVI Corps
9) 4th Cavalry Brigade, 3(2Cav) Cavalry Division, XVI Corps



EAGLE DIVISIONS: All six of the AotT divisions turned in a 100% Muster Return this month. The following records have been noted:


Maj. Gen. Jeff McDonald’s First Infantry Division, XV Corps: Fifth Consecutive, Fifty-third overall effort.

Col. Derek Hampel’s Second Infantry Division, XV Corps, Sixty-third Consecutive, Sixty-second overall effort.

Acting Division Commander Lt. Col. Maxime Yvelin’s Third Cavalry Division (1 Cav), XV Corps: Fourth Consecutive, Fifty-fourth overall effort.

General Chuck Jensen’s First Infantry Division, XVI Corps: Thirty-third Consecutive and Sixtieth overall effort.

Maj. Gen. John Sheffield’s Second Infantry Division, XVI Corps: Twenty-first consecutive and Fifty-ninth overall effort.

Col. Rich Miskinis, Third Cavalry Division (2Cav), XVI Corps; First Consecutive and Fifty-ninth overall effort.




BATTLE REPORT:

The AotT completed 4 actions in September 2015. All four actions were BATTLES. Of these 4 BATTLES, the AotT won 2 MAJOR VICTORIES. Confederate forces gained 1 MAJOR VICTORY and 1 MINOR VICTORY. There were no draws.


BATTLEFIELD RIBBONS FOR MAJOR VICTORIES:

Lt. Gen. Mike Dowling won a battlefield Ribbon for his victory at Seven Pines. ( Scn. 00a_Hist_Seven Pines_May 31-June 1.scn /82). 1st Award.

Brig. Gen. Zafer Ejder won a Battlefield Ribbon for his victory at Gettysburg. (HISTORICAL 1. The Battle of Gettysburg - July 1 - 3, 1863 /136) 6th Award



MAJOR VICTORIES NOT MERITING BATTLEFIELD RIBBONS: NONE




MINOR VICTORIES: NONE
