Appointment to Division Command

1. Lt. Col. Maxime Yvelin, 4th Cavalry Brigade, 3(1Cav) Cavalry Division, XV Corps is hereby appointed as Acting Division Commander for 3(1Cav) Cavalry Division, XV Corps during the period of Maj. Gen. Ray Matthews’ Leave of Absence.

2. This appointment is granted under the authority granted by the Union Army General in Chief (UAGinC) General Derald Riggs.

3. During the period of this appointment, Lt. Col. Yvelin will remain in command of 4/3(1Cav)/XV and will be slotted there for reporting purposes. However, Lt. Col. Yvelin shall be accorded all consideration, rewards and recompense due to a Division Commander of the Army of the Tennessee.

4. This appointment is effective upon receipt and will remain in effect until such time as Maj. Gen. Matthews returns from his Leave of Absence and is prepared to reassume his position as Division Commander.
