Re: Appointment--Maj. Gen. Frank DiNola
Maj. Gen. DiNola,
Congratulations, sir! By current Union Army Regulations you are, as a corps commander, now eligible to appoint three additional members to your personal staff. However, such appointees may not be of the following classifications: females, persons incapable of distinguishing the colors grey and blue, and those under 3 feet of height. You will receive all monetary payments accorded to your position from this day forward when the war has been brought to a successful conclusion. You will also be required to provide your own ink for your printer and may not use government lumber to construct your own outhouse.
Good luck in the performance of your duties. I will be able to provide you one set of nearly fresh saddle harness, should you so require, Frank, for each case of captured whiskey turn into this office!
