ATTENTION TO PARADE!
Major General Don Centers has announced his intention of stepping down as Superintendent of the Union Military Academy, personal demands taking priority. He will be assuming command, instead, of the 6th Artillery Brigade, First Divison, V Corps, Army of the Potomac. Replacing him as Superintendent on this date is the current Assistant Superintendent and chief of staff, Brigadier General Tommy Lynn.
CITATION FOR THE OUTSTANDING SERVICE COMMENDATION
MAJOR GENERAL DONALD CENTERS
Major General Donald Centers, is hereby awarded, for the first time in his career as an officer of the ACWGC Union Army, the Union Army's Outstanding Service Medal and Ribbon, for his dedicated performance as the Superintendent of the Union Military Academy. Maj. Gen. Centers began his service within the UMA in August of 2011 as the Assistant Superintendent to General David Danner. He served commendably and enthusiastically in that role until he assumed the superintendency in January of 2012. From that time until now, Maj. Gen. Centers has performed his duties in a remarkably thorough and commendable manner, guiding the UMA with firmness and purpose, often taking that extra measure of attention that makes such efforts so successful. His tenure has proven to be timely, dependable and of great assitance to the Union Army's well-being, and in no small measure a compliment to his fortitude and honorable character.
