Lieutenant General Michael Dowling is awarded the Union Army's Distinguished Sevice Order for his constant and supportive administration as the Union Army of the Tennessee's XVI Corps Commander. Within a 32-month period of command, General Dowling led the XVI Corps to 24 months of 100% Muster Return, an enviable and remarkable record by any standard. He assumed his assignment under the unsettling circumstances of a merged re-organization and thereafter routinely contributed of his time and energy to providing the basic addressments of his command.

This is the General's fourth such award!

Major General David Elkin is awarded the Union Army's Distinguished Sevice Order for his constant and supportive administration as the Union Army of the Tennessee's Third (2nd) Cavalry Division Commander. Within his 16-months of command, 13 of them have resulted in a 100% Muster Return. He has demonstrated a firm leadership capability that has guided his division in excellent cohesion and longevity.

This is the General's second such award!
