Official ACWGC Union Army General rank promotion announcements, command appointments and UA awards are made on the Parade Ground. The Mess Tent serves as a casual place for all club members to socialize, drink or have a meal, as long as they spend Yankee dollars! And, as much as we like to accommodate our Southron brethren, they will not be able to vote in any polls held here, or gain access to the restricted areas.

This parade is called to present the Union Army's Kearny Cross of Valor to Brigadier General Larry Flaherty.
CITATION FOR KEARNY CROSS OF VALOR
BRIGADIER GENERAL LARRY FLAHERTY
Brigadier General Larry Flaherty is awarded the Union Army's Kearny Cross of Valor for his battlefield performances during the second half of 2011, a period of six months wherein he fought and completed 18 battles, recording a remarkable 12 victories against only 4 defeats, earning in the process 7 Battlefield Ribbons. His 18 battles for the period was also the most actions fought by an officer in the army of the Potomac.
This is the General's first such award!

Well done sir! Congratulations on a decoration well deserved. Remind me sometime to tell you how I earned mine fending off the Hampton Legion with nothing more then my saber and really mean mule. However you had better have a generous tab to hear it.....
