Special Awards Parade, General Ernie Sands
OFFICERS OF THE ACWGC UNION ARMY,
ATTENTION TO PARADE!
It gives me great pleasure to award the following commendation to General Ernie Sands in recognition of his continuous, five-year service as a Union Army Cabinet Secretary.
CITATION
As becomes the traditions of the ACWGC Union Army and in keeping with the values of recognition for services rendered in its behalf, the following citation is presented.
During the period of his tenure as an ACWGC Cabinet Union Army Secretary, General Sands demonstrated an exceptionally consistent, prompt and reliable execution of the duties associated with his position, sustaining an abiding and focused interest in the welfare of the ACWGC and the Union Army. His knowledge, experience and insights imparted a leveling influence and guidance to the Cabinet deliberations and very often provided helpful perspective to a number of difficult issues. His natural clarity of thought was augumented with a very crisp and direct ability in examining the worth and good reason for various proposals, and his diplomatic and gentlemanly manner successfully allowed him to offer necessary critique without defamation. Throughout long periods of normally necessary but less exciting administrative detail, he was always able to bring a cheerful and companionable demeanor to the proceedings, indicative of an abiding and personal regard for the club of which he is a member.
It is with the complete and very forceful approbation of his peers and those associated with his character, that I am honored and privileged to present to General Ernie Sands, in appreciation of his valuable contribution to the Union Army, the Union Army's Medal of Honor and Ribbon, that officer's first such, career award.
In addition, it is my privilege to present to him his 5-Year Service Ribbon as a Union Army Secretary.
OFFICERS OF THE ACWGC UNION ARMY,
Present, ARMS!...Order, ARMS!
Parade, DISMISSED!
