Suh, my compliments!

I continue to be confused over the math involved in your calculations and am curious as to how you come about your numbers. I'll refer to the Eastern Theater numbers:

Major Victories: 9
Minor Victories: 2
Draws: 9
Minor Defeats: 4
Major Defeats: 7
Total: 31

The winning percentage is given as .516, however I can't determine how that is reached. In terms of victories (11 of 31) the winning percentage would be .355. If you throw in the draws as well (20 of 31) the percentage would be .645, however that wouldn't be considered "winning". Is there additional weight given to the level of victory? Is it calculated in number of turns?

The Army of the Mississippi posted the following for the 4th Quarter of 2013:
Victories: 20 (17 major, 3 minor)
Draws: 16
Defeats: 11 (7 major, 4 minor)
Total: 47

By my math the "winning percentage" would be .426; how does it work out with yours?

Highest regards,

General Hebert, my compliments !

You are slightly misled by the word "winning percentage"
the idea behind the calculation was to reward a major victory more than a minor one.

the calculation is as follows :
a major victory is worth 1
a minor 0.75
a draw 0.5
a minor defeat 0.25
a major defeat 0

9 * 1 = 9
2 * 0.75 = 1.5
9 * 0.5 = 4.5
4 * 0.25 = 1
7 * 0 = 0
total = 16
nb of battles = 31
ratio = 16 / 31 = 0.516

Regards
