MAIN BAR ROOM
Welcome to officers of both sides. Sit down and enjoy a drink served by our lovely barmaids Gloria and Liberty. Trade war stories or tall tales, but remember your deportment; that large man behind the counter will not hesitate to escort you out, if your behavior does not honor your rank!

Battle Reports for August!

Post by Drex »

All right Officers of the AotS, sound off on your exploits on the battlefield. Don't be shy. We ant to know who and what you are playing. If you are victorious, let us know.:)
This is what I have onb my plate:
Multi-player:
1. the Struggle for Control(Gettysburg) - this battle has been going on for awhile and right now the Union is getting kicked around. My I and XI Corps are struggling to join the rest of the army, having been separated by the Rebs in their attack from LTR. My Cavalry Corps, watching the left of II Corps has been hit hard from the attack from LTR and is retreating along with II & III Corps. XII, V and XXII Corps are coming up and I let the other commanders describe their parts(Gens Niall Murphy, Jeff Laub and Rusty Hodgkiss) We have a minor defeat at this point playing against Neal Hebert and his 2nd division of the nefarious AotM.

2.The Climax(Gettysburg) - Ambros Tremel and I are playing Robert Weir and John Newton. This game has stopped for some reason. It is still a mv(Union) with each side establishing their battle lines and Ambros giving a good account of himself in the North half while I am expecting a strong attack in the south after their attempt to break our center failed.

3.Nashville,Sept'63(Chickamaugua) - Aaron Jenkins and I are battling John Newton and Paul Smith who have pushed us back to the city limits with superior numbers while we wait for our reinforcements to get into place. My Cavalry Corps has held our right but their attack on our center and left has been more successful. I am rushing a brigade of Negley's Division oveto our left to help Gen. Reynolds while the balance of the division will strengthen the center (XXI Corps and Lightning Brigade). Aaron has his XX Corps entering the field, taking the Rebs in flank and I have my Reserve Corps helping. Negley's Division is the key here.

4.Chickamaugua meeting engagement/047( Two the Sound of the Guns): I guess the tournament ended before we could even engage the enemy. It was night and we were still moving troops onto the field when time ran out. We were give a md but on what grounds I do not know. A particularly unsatisfying tournament, way too short.

Single Player
1.Lexington (Ozark Campaign): After getting an mv at Boonesville, I am marching toward Lexington. I have a good force but I wonder if Sweeney will arrive from the south. the Rebs are badgering me with their cavalry but no casualties yet. I'm fighting Jaime Campaderos in this one.

2.Chickamaugua Meeting engagement (048) - vs Pat Carroll. Pat is a very able and aggressive Reb. He has outmanuevered me the first day but I still hold a minor victory after being pushed back across Chickamaugua Creek and outflanked in the north. Manuever is halved in this scenario so it is difficult to get from one place to another. In the forest, only one hex at a time.
Night is still here and I am trying to establish a battle line in the north which is a difficult thing as it a large area. My troops are mixed up and I have lost many leaders. this battle is a question mark.

3.Relief of Williamsport (Gettysburg) - This is a great new scenario by Bill Peters and I urge everyone to play it. Dane Roselle, new Field Lt., is my opponent and he is very aggressive. II Corps has attempted to hold Williamsport in the face of overwhelming odds while I have I, V,VI, VIII,XXII and Stahel's Cavalry all trying to get there. The Rebs have all their forces on the field and have interior lines. I and VI Corps have been held up by strong rebel forces and are fighting their own battle. II corps has been basically destroyed and is evacuating the town but has taken all the supply wagon with them - something the Rebs need badly. I have enough cannon and men to hold the river crossing but Dane rushed his cavalry south to cross the river and take me in the rear. Whoa! I have XXII Corps 5000 men waiting for him so he won't get far. Meanwhile Stahel's Division is coming from the west to aid II Corps defend of their river crossing. VI and VIII Corps have been moving south toward Williamsport. VI is held up by a division with many guns. I have cavalry sneaking in from both flanks, one battery of 8 tubes was taken in melee and on the other flank I am moving 2000 Cav in to take another large battery left undefended. VI Corps is holding their attention while all this is going on. I have an MV so far in this one. A truly exciting battle that is worth playing from both sides.

Okay Gents, that;s what I've been up to.
