In special recognition of his extended and consistent career as an officer of the Union Army of the Shenandoah and of his extremely active game record profile, Major General Robert Noftz, present Commander of the Third ("Cast Iron") Infantry Division, VI Corps, AotS is presented the Union Army's Kearny Cross of Valor medal and ribbon.
