Temporary Closure of the Winchester Arms Bar

MAIN BAR ROOM
Welcome to officers of both sides. Sit down and enjoy a drink served by our lovely barmaids Gloria and Liberty. Trade war stories or tall tales, but remember your deportment; that large man behind the counter will not hesitate to escort you out, if your behavior does not honor your rank!

Temporary Closure of the Winchester Arms Bar

Post by cameronm »

Gents Gen Meyer has hired out the Winchester Arms Bar for the Confederate Army for the West staff Christmas Function - so the place will be temporarily closed 5-7 December 1865 (2014) to all yanks. So can you boys make sure you have any stuff you do not want damaged out of the bar area the day before as I can't guarantee its safety - all those stuffed toys and those pictures of Gen Mead and Gen Grant in drag will not last the night. I have given Gen Meyer my word as a southern gent that we will not have more than five horses in the bar at one time, plus no firearms over 20lb in calibre. I have every expectation that we will drink the bar and the surrounding five counties dry before the evening is done. Thanks in advance for you forbearance

This is what happens when a confirmed drunkard runs out of panhandle opportunities! Were it not for his sheer, audacious boldness in presenting such a perposterous scenario, one might feel genuinely sorry for the man. But he is more than adept and wily in spinning out any story he feels will secure him liquor in great quantities. It is only out of some slight degree of respect for him as a retiring CSA CoA that I've sent him a case of Cincinnati Blue Light ale from the USA Commissary stores. But I fear that it has only adled his already saturated brain and cause him to soar to delusional heights in his cravings.

However, not wishing to appear as a completely uncaring man, I will at least allow him to sniff the Winchester Arms bar from outside the premises. ;)
