You cannot begin to know how sorry we were to have missed you at the ceremonies when they occurred! And you see, this is the thing! You make a great stink about an empty bar when you arrive at the same time that we are all out upon the fields of battle, prosecuting the war as we should. But you are never around at the time things are announced. And that's probably a good thing, given the amount of drinking that you do!

We were only a couple of days late, and what would Lincoln think about two CSA officers and a Louisiana alligator attending the ceremony anyhow? No complaint about the waiting time for service, however.
