I am Colonel (Retired) Vic Nelson, now assigned Lieutenant Nelson in the Army of the Potomac and awaiting Corps/Division/Brigade assignment. I have played a training game with the Chief of Staff and gone through other training regarding the website and such. I will shortly begin an advanced training exercise using John Tillers Campaign Gettysburg.
I have been avidly wargaming for over 45 years, beginning with the Avalon Hill- and SPI-series board games. Happening upon this site and wanting to play PvP in the Civil War is exciting as I have only played TalonSoft and HPS games against the AI.
I am an avid military historian and have visited many civil war battlefields.
I will retire after 43 years of federal service (DoD, DoS[tate]) in November.
Look forward to meeting you. Happy trails.

Lt. Nelson, welcome to the club and the Union Army. I wish I still had my old Avalon hill game. I think a lot of the club members started out with Avalon. You will enjoy the play by email, it is very different that playing AI.
Again welcome and enjoy.
