AotP Change-of-Command Ceremony

MAIN TAVERN ROOM
Welcome to officers of both sides. Sit down and enjoy a drink served by our lovely barmaids Gertrude and Molly. Trade war stories or tall tales, but remember your deportment; that large man behind the counter will not hesitate to escort you out, if your behavior does not honor your rank!

AotP Change-of-Command Ceremony

Post by Joe Meyer »

OFFICERS OF THE ACWGC UNION ARMY,
ATTENTION TO PARADE!

The following, official dispatch was transmitted this date from Washington, D.C. to the Field Headquarters of the Army of the Potomac.

General Frank DiNola, AotP AC
Lieutenant General David Martin, V Corps, AotP

Gentlemen:

Effective this date General Frank DiNola is replaced by Lieutenant General David Martin as commanding general of the Army of the Potomac, Union Army, American Civil War Game Club.
General DiNola is thanked for his honorable service as commander of the army since 2013. Lieutenant General Martin is hereby charged with continuing to command the army in the manner as set forth by General DiNola.

General Derald Riggs
Commander, ACWGC Union Army

General Riggs takes this occasion to initiate a Change-of-Command ceremony to both honor the services of General DiNola and to extend his wishes to Lieutenant General Martin for a successful tenure as the new AotP Commander. Accordingly the following citation is made in the awardance of the Union Army's highest decoration, the Defender of the Union Medal and ribbon, and the Union Army's Honorable Service Medal and ribbon to General Frank Dinola.

"The command of a Union Field Army demands the utmost attention and commitment from the officer assigned. It is a demanding duty, rigorously assumed and fulfilled each month, often attended with pressing personnel matters of all sorts and requiring a generous amount of personal time. Each AC must seek to provide the required stability and accountability within his command as he best sees fit, relying upon both his own volition and the support of his CoS, CC's and DC's. He must be a communicator, a leader and a friend to all within his command, ready to extend a helping hand when needed and be unafraid to move his command forward into rewarding times. He must also donate some of his personal time into serving the G-in-G as a member of the UA Command Staff. From September of 2013 to April of 2017, a period of three and one half years, General DiNola has met these requirements and expectations to the best of his ability under sometimes trying situations. It is, therefore, with a great amount of pleasure, satisfaction and respect that I award General Frank DiNola the Union Army's highest service decoration, The Defender of the Union Medal, and the General's second Union Army Honorable Service Medal." - General Derald Riggs

I am also informed that Madame Fleming of Pennsylvania Avenue fame in Washington has kindly assisted in providing additional barmaids for this occasion.

OFFICERS OF THE ACWGC UNION ARMY,
Present, ARMS!...Order, ARMS!
