A hole in the line

MAIN TAVERN ROOM
Welcome to officers of both sides. Sit down and enjoy a drink served by our lovely barmaids Gertrude and Molly. Trade war stories or tall tales, but remember your deportment; that large man behind the counter will not hesitate to escort you out, if your behavior does not honor your rank!

A hole in the line

Post by R. Sickbert »

Gentlemen,

Please join me in offering Best Wishes to Mark Davis, who has decided to leave the battlefield and relax with the grandchildren in retirement! Sir it has been my pleasure and honor to have fought on the field with you. Your presence and battle acumen will be missed in the V Corps. Good luck sir and be well!

Drinks are on me and a pig is roasting out back, come out yonder and rest in the shade one last time with the Dixie Land Blues sir.

All are invited!

I Shall Ever Be, Your Obedient Servant,
Lt. Gen. R. Sickbert
First Division, Fifth Corp
Army of the Potomac

Ah, yes! Retirement!

I suppose that we all will eventually lay down our commissions and wander back into the Real World, having satisfied our thirst for competition and camaraderie ...or maybe not! But for those who leave honorably, including those forced to leave through illness, injury or misfortune, there will always be respect and best wishes.

Good luck to you, Mark, and may you enjoy those grandchildren and impart to them the principles of PBEM game play!

Now where is that roasted pork and the drinks?!!!
