Please join me in extending a welcome to 2nd Lieutenants Blake Strickler, Mark Davis and Hampus Drott to the ranks of the Army of the Potomac. All three gentlemen have exercised a Military Group Transfer, each having formerly served in the capacity of CSA General Officers.

"Interesting?"

You're telling me!

What are these indoor bathrooms I keep hearing about? Witchcraft?! Imagine a man not having to put on his long johns and light a lantern to take his morning constitutional!

And coffee made from actual coffee beans

Will wonders never cease...

I am glad to be here, gents! My former Reb pals and I have long discussed swapping sides as we three have been together since we joined in 2010. General Meyer was kind enough to accept us and here we are. We finally opted to switch in 2013 after our commitments on the CSA side were fulfilled and we were hankering to experience the Club in a new way and to make new friends. We all love this Club and are excited for a new experience in it!

Now... I just happen to have about 1.4 billion in Confederate currency in my pocket here. I shall like to buy drinks for everyone but I understand that I am about 400 million Confederate dollars short of buying a full bottle of whiskey. Therefore Mark Davis has agreed to pitch in and together we present you all with a drink compliments of the new lieutenants!

Do not be so keen to welcome the new arrivals - you must surely be wondering why they left? the real story!, how come? how could they? Well being a Southern Officer and a gent I could not possibly tell you. However alcohol has been known to loosen my tongue. Why thank you Deano a large whiskey would be most welcome. Gather round Yankee dudes, well the real story is that they were drummed out of the Confederate Army for not being able to maintain the high standards required of a Southern Officer and Gentleman. Two charges were brought against each officer; the first was that they had each failed to drink in an irresponsible manner (shocking I know  ) and the second was that they had joined a seditious and subversive organisation " The CSA Women's Temperance Union. In each case the charges were proven and they were sent north So be very careful to keep a close eye on them, because they can get out of control at any time and then you will wake up and your tavern and your army will be dry - yep a booze free zone.

General Cam sir, welcome and have another!

Please tell us about this "Moderation" you southerners have been drinking with lately. We here in the Union Army don't know any such officer. But be advised we will never allow him in our taverns, although you are almost always welcome. Almost.

With respect,

Deano

Why thank you General Deano I will have another large whiskey. Well son the word "Moderation" can only be found in a Union dictionary, the word was banded in the South at the time of succession. Under the CSA criminal code it can be a offense to use the word and if I catch any confederate officer using the word or acting in such a manner as to comply with the meaning of said word then I will thrash him myself.
