Reporting for duty

Post by Duncan R. »

Greetings Union comrades.
I'm brand new here and playing my academy scenario.
Hm... I'm 55 and have been gaming since the late late 70s. I was the match coordinator for AHIKS until recently.
I have played computer war games for almost 30 years. JTS games for perhaps the last two, but I'm not very good at them.
Happy to be here.

Welcome, Cadet Rice! Glad to have you join with us, Duncan. Given your Avalon Hill experience, you will have no trouble fitting in as a ACWGC member and finding good friends to battle against in JTS games. We wish you all the best, and especially great success against our worthy foes south of the Mason-Dixon. <Salute>

Welcome to the Union Army, Cadet Rice, we're delighted to have you aboard to help us begin another great year. I believe most of us probably descended from Avalon Hill, too, so you will find plenty of brothers in arms here!

I will be looking forward to your graduation when you will be qualified for your first battle! At that time, with your permission, we will see if we can find a newly hatched rebel and set you up in a relatively even match which we call the Lieutenant's Cup! It's our way of helping to get our people started on the battlefield.

As I take drinking as a Sober responsibility, may I hoist the first round to your health? I always take the opportunity to be more responsible!

<Salute>
