Greetings gentlemen,

My name is Didier Cornillie and i am from Belgium. I retired from the Belgian Navy after 38 years of service.
Glad to be accepted into West Point Military Academy ,with the purpose of becoming an officer , and serving in this great Union army ,to put those misguided gentlemen of the south back into the Union.
Drinks are on me , Belgian beer of course

Regards

Cadet Didier Cornillie

Welcome to our Club, Cadet Cornillie!
Glad you were able to find your way to the Canteen.

You’ve got the right attitude, Didier, and more importantly, the right beer!
It's great to have you on our side in this great conflict to preserve the Union.

Belgium, you say . . . and a naval tar as well?!!! Welcome aboard, Cadet! I believe that this is a first in our club!

Now come here to my table and allow me to share a drink or two with you before these other gentlemen bore you with their tales. I can assure you that you will find a great deal of enjoyment in this path you've selected and that you will be challenged to . . . say, isn't that a fine looking pair of boots that you are wearing! No doubt General Eichelberger takes great pride in outfitting his cadets in nothing but the finest uniforms and accoutrements available. But those boots are much too grand for marching stiffly around on the parade ground. What you need is a reliable and comfortable pair of one-size-fits-all field boots, just like the pair that I have on! Here, let's do this: I'll trade you my own for those overpriced stilts that you're wearing. Here, go ahead and try these on and we'll see how things feel in an hour or two. Meanwhile we can share sea stories as I, too, am an old salt! Let me ask you, Didier, did you ever sail with Captain Epsom?

Welcome Cadet Cornillie to the Union Army. Hold everything a Navy gunboat is calling you and I'm calling for another pint. Salute.

Mr. Cornillie:

Didier,
Welcome to the Union Army Group. May you enjoy battling with our errant brothers. Remember, above all else, to enjoy the experience, exercise good judgement, and be honorable in all of your interactions. If you get a chance a kegs of Jupiter my way.

Good luck

And to everybody , thanks for a warm welcome .
Let the beer flow freely , i still got some dollars left somewhere.
