AotC September/October Monthly Report

MAIN TAVERN ROOM
Welcome to officers of both sides. Sit down and enjoy a drink served by our lovely barmaids Helga and Ingrid. Trade war stories or tall tales, but remember your deportment; that large man behind the counter will not hesitate to escort you out, if your behavior does not honor your rank!

AotC September/October Monthly Report

Post by David Danner »

Army of the Cumberland
October, 2012 Army Report
10-21-12

Western Theatre Commander General Ernest Sands:

The Army of the Cumberland October muster was 24 of 32 officers responding including the one new recruit we have been assigned this month, Lieutenant Simon Patrick. He has been assigned to the Cumberland Sabers Division and we extend a warm welcome to him. General Ax Ruhrmann has requested to be placed back in retirement due to health and family considerations. We will miss him.

I would like to encourage each member of our Army to help identify exceptional effort/tactics. This could take many forms, like superior play by an opponent or teammate in a multi-player game. It might be great advice, excellent supervision, or any unique effort by someone. Please bring this to the attention of their superior for recognition—even from the Rebel side as Civil War writings and letters are full of exalted and honorable performances by friend and foe. This is the responsibility of all of us, not just command personnel. Extraordinary effort needs and deserves reward, so please be cognizant of the efforts of others.

General Pierre Desruisseaux was elected President of the ACWGC and we will all aid him to further our Club during the next two years. General Mark Nelms of the AotC was a very close second and respects to both men for stepping up to enhance our gaming experience. Thanks to all who participated in the election.

Five battles were started this month and seventeen ended. Of these seventeen, 4 were major victories, 4 minor victories, 2 major defeats, 1 minor loss, there were 5 draws, and there were 1 maneuvers or West Point Training games played to an end this month. Congratulations gentlemen well played.

The XX Corps Lafayette Division has been selected for the Honor Guard this month.

There are no officers currently in advanced training, but there are six veteran members participating in the Red Badge of Courage Tournament. They are, Generals van der Hagen, Riggs, Shaw, Nelms, Chatain, and Wilkes. Good luck gentlemen.

General Chatain is working with General Meyer to improve battlefield ribbon guide for HPS Peninsula. This is a very time consuming task, but has proven to identify additional awards that might have gone unnoticed previously. Many thanks.

Army of the Cumberland September Awards:

General Chatain: Sheridan Combat Medal (#3), 5 OBD Points for his third quarter efforts against enemy forces. This is an extremely fine effort.
