Western Theatre Commander General Ernest Sands:

The Army of the Cumberland July muster was 28 of 31 officers responding. We have been assigned no new recruits this month or transfers. There has not been any word from hospitalized or extended leave personnel.

Eighteen battles were started this month and thirty ended. Of these thirty, 11 were major victories, 1 minor victory, 9 major defeats, 1 minor loss, there was 7 draws, and there were 1 maneuvers or West Point Training games played to an end this month. Congratulations gentlemen well played. Most of the losses are attributed to hospitalized personnel. We were wrongly given credit for a minor victory, but the game has not ended and the tally modified.

The XX Corps, 2nd Division and the XIV Corps 1st and 2nd Divisions have been selected for the Honor Guard this month.

There are no officers currently in advanced training.
