For his many contributions to the club and the AotC, Gen. Lars Wistedt is hereby awarded the George Thomas Medal.

The recommendation from the field reads as follows:

Gentlemen:

I recommend Lars Wistedt for the George H. Thomas award for the following reasons:

Lars has been an active officer in the AotC for a considerable period. He rose through the ranks and has served two terms as Army Commander, two terms as a Cabinet Secretary, and is currently the Western Theatre Commander and a West Point Trainer. His most important contribution to the AotC might have been as serving as Army Commander during a Club up-evil that threatened the fabric of the Club institution by keeping the AotC out of direct confrontations.

I have served under and with Lars Wistedt since 2002 and feel he is without a doubt an officer who's achievements are emblematic for this award.
