Western Theatre Commander General Ernest Sands:

The Army of the Cumberland January muster was 26 of 32 officers responding. We were assigned no new recruits this month. Captain Olinsky has been transferred to the Command position of the XX Corps, 1st Division.

Fifteen battles were started this month and forty ended. Of these forty, 22 were major victories, 1 minor victory, 4 major defeats, 4 minor losses, there were 4 draws, and there were 5 maneuvers or West Point Training games played to an end this month. This is a very impressive accomplishment, if not unprecedented. Congratulations gentlemen.

The XIV Corps, 1st Division and XX Corps 2nd Division have been selected for the Honor Guard this month. Congratulations gentlemen.

There are no officers currently in advanced training.

Current Tournament:

General Shaw, Colonel Chatain, and Captain Olinsky are actively engaged with officers of the Rebel Army of the Mississippi developing a new game for a tournament between our two Armies. They are play testing at this time.
