Gentlemen:

Yesterday I recorded a panel discussion of the 4 top Civil War Generals on C-span2, Book TV, as part of the 150 year anniversary for the National Archives. The participants examined how each man ascended to the military rank and what separated each from their peers. The panel was moderated by Gen. Wesley Clark (Retired) which included Noah Andre Trudeau, Robert E. Lee, Donald Davis, Stonewall Jackson, Steven Woodworth, Sherman, and John Mosier, Grant. The event took place at the National Archives in Washington, DC.

The program airs again at 12 AM (ET) today on C-Span2 again today and I hope you have a chance to see or record it for later viewing because they examine personal characteristics that all of us have but were salient in these men. Courage (personal and moral), foresight, insight, education, and intrinsic qualities are discussed and explored.

This is not to be missed.

General Danner <salute>

Suh, my compliments and appreciation for the hospitality exhibited in the establishment!

If I might ask, what is the meaning of the equation in your signature? I'm wondering if I might add "PAO2 = FiO2 (Pb-PH2O) - (PaCO2 x 1.25)" to mine

I'm sure your Army will allow your new signature sir, but please include the division of the equation with the square root of the circumference of your 2nd child's 3rd digit on their left hand. Otherwise you will just have to drink the stuff.

The equation in my signature is an expression of speed my Cumberland Rifle's Operations Officer uses to march into hostile territory to gain positional advantage and counter-attack Rebel positions. Now sir, please be kind enough to offer those in the house a cool beverage.

General Strickler <salute>

Suh, my compliments!

General Danner's formula must be a theory waiting to be proved or disproved. His expression of the speed of his Cumberland Rifles may also apply to the speed with which they march away from a lickin' after being outmaneuvered by Confederate forces. What my second child's digit has to do with their running away eludes me.

My compliments,
