January Army of the Cumberland Monthly Report

MAIN TAVERN ROOM
Welcome to officers of both sides. Sit down and enjoy a drink served by our lovely barmaids Helga and Ingrid. Trade war stories or tall tales, but remember your deportment; that large man behind the counter will not hesitate to escort you out, if your behavior does not honor your rank!

January Army of the Cumberland Monthly Report

Post by David Danner »

Army of the Cumberland
January, 2012 Army Report
1-18-12

Western Theatre Commander General Ernest Sands:

The Army of the Cumberland January muster was 27 of 35 officers responding. We were assigned one new recruit this month. This Army has been equipped with 4 Training Officers and they are an excellent staff for the development personnel and tactics.

Twelve battles were started this month and sixteen ended. Of these sixteen, ten were victories, two were losses, there were two draws, and there were two maneuvers or West Point Training games played to an end this month.

The XIV Corps, 2nd Division and XX Corps 3rd Division have been selected for the Honor Guard this month. Congratulations gentlemen.

There are no officers currently in advanced training.

I must admit that I was never reluctant to assume Command of the Army of the Cumberland. In fact I was eager. The caliber of the personnel at the AotC has always been exemplary and downright satisfying to command. We have always accepted, trained, and developed new personnel into Command roles and into a formidable fighting force. Take a look at the entire Union Command structure and you will find many AotC officers taking the lead position on issues and for the betterment of the Club. I’m proud of the personnel and their commitment to excellence in gaming and enjoyment at the AotC and as new personnel enters our ranks greater camaraderie between personnel will develop. General Gross has made my transition into the Command position smooth and exciting and it was an easy transition of the Flag.

The following promotions and transfers will take effect immediately:

1. General Gross to XIV Corps, 1st Division, 3rd Brigade
2. General Killeen to XO
3. General Jenssen to XX Corps, 2nd Division, 3rd Brigade
3. General Fogarty to XX Corps, 2nd Division, 1st Brigade
4. Lieutenant Colonel Chatain to Command XX Corps, 2nd Division
5. General Shaw to XX Corps Command
6. Lieutenant Bianchi takes the Ordnance Department
7. Lieutenant Olinsky takes the Adjutant's position
8. Army Training Officers, Gross, Shaw, Barlow, Riggs
9. Lieutenant Bianchi transferred to XX Corps, 2nd Division, 4th Brigade

Current Tournament:

Negotiations are underway for an Army vs. Army Divisional Tournament, but the Rebels have responded much better than we have to the call for duty.
