Welcome 1st Lts. Mark Brien & Francois Chatain to the AotC!
Please welcome our two newest officers arriving into battle, 1st Lt. Mark Brien and 1st Lt. Francois Chatain.
1st Lt. Brien is a cavalry man assigned to the 1st Brigade of the Boots and Saddles Division, XX Corps. He'll help us keep Rebel cavalry at bay who have been raiding our supply lines as we continue to control Tennessee.
1st Lt. Chatain will command the infantry of 1st Brigade, 2nd Division, XX Corps "Carlin's Cavaliers". He will soon strike fear into our opponents based on the reports from the Academy...
Combat losses to our officers have been heavy, but that's what we expect when leading troops into the tough battles her in the West. However, with fine replacements such as these will keep our campaign in the South going strong. This round is on me!

Good luck gentlemen. The Army of the Cumberland is the cradle of leadership and I have no doubt that each of you will do your part. If I get to Provence in the Spring Francois, will your Uncle have time for a short visit and some wine tasting?

Welcome Mark!
I have to agree with General Danner, Francois is a very strong player and fortunately I won't have to play against him.
Yes... it took y'all a long time to join this army!bianchi wrote:Welcome in AotC Mark and François.

He probably will but he is not in Provence, he is in Languedoc, which is not so close.David Danner wrote: If I get to Provence in the Spring Francois, will your Uncle have time for a short visit and some wine tasting?
To be honest, you will find better wines in Provence and many owners ready for some wine tasting.
I know pretty well the Chateauneuf du Pape wines, which have a much better reputation than wines from Languedoc, and which are located in the north-west of Provence.
Of course, a wine guide will lead you to some good owners but if you want, I can advise you on some I have already visited.
if you prefer to see my wife's uncle, I don't know him very well but no problem of course, I can give you his adress and send him a word...

Welcome to the ACWGC young union officers. I can not say that I have ever cared much for the dark forces of unionism in any of it hellish forms. But one must choose a cause to follow and defend so I can not criticize you for that. The one thing that does join us together is the love of a good battle and having fun. If you ever feel the urge to join the cause of states rights, then do drop by my tent as I may have a nice gray uniform that will fit.
I take it that we are having a few drinks to celebrate the occasion – barkeep make mine a large whiskey, plus a beer chaser. The last time I was here General Meyer gave me some of his Chateau de Goat, which may be ok for rough union tastes, but it is certainly not suitable for the refined tastes of a southern officer and gentleman.
