Greetings to all my comrades in the Army of the Cumberland. I am First Lieutenant Brad Lorton, recently assigned to Deuce Fourteen by General Meyer. So far I am specializing in Campaign Atlanta, but hope to expand from there. I work in Indianapolis, Indiana and live in a small bedroom community just east. I pass by the statue of Governor Oliver P. Morton every day -- he's flanked by statues of Indiana soldiers in kepis. I am also an aging, but determined electric guitarist, specializing in classic hard rock. Started John Tiller Civil War mobile games while reading Shelby Foote's "The Civil War: A Narrative" trilogy. Got good enough to beat the computer most all the time and graduated to Campaign Atlanta. My instructor has bee General Ian Miller, whom I have nothing but praise and high regard for. I hope to be a contributing soldier in the AotC, and help all of you explain to the Johnny Rebs the folly of their treason -- in our own colorful way.

-- Brad

It is good to see young men joining the ACWGC, however it saddens me to see them drawn to the inherent evils of the Union cause. It must be something to do with the current liberal attitudes prevalent in the US education system. There was a time a few years back when it was legal to whoop some sense into them, but dang it that option is gone. Anyway enough of talking about the wayward young; did someone say free drinks!

Anyway welcome to the club and make sure you are having fun, because that is what this club is about.

My compliments to the Confederate General, thank you for your welcome. "Prevalent liberal attitudes in the North" -- hey! I resemble that remark! It will be my pleasure to engage Rebs around Atlanta in your home state. I am looking to my hero, General William Tecumseh Sherman for inspiration in my Campaign Atlanta scenarios.

Brad, sorry my location is fictional, I am actually a Kiwi living in far northern Australia - but I do support the Crimson Tide - Go Bama - winners of the SEC and in the play-offs for collage champions. If you want to play something from the Atlanta campagin I would be ok after Christmas - just pm me at the ACWGC Forums.

Glad to see you have made it to the tavern Brad. You have to watch those Reb's, they are always slipping into the tavern looking for free drinks. That is why we have the backroom to discuss important strategic matters. Best of luck to you in your battles.

General Shaw, Sir. I fully understand the treachery of the Secessionists! But I figure you have to roll with the punches. Besides, Georgia boys have been sneaking Kentucky Bourbon, and Indiana-distilled Seagram's for many years. They get tired of smoking them peach-blossoms.

General McOmish, it will one day be my honor, Sir, to engage you on the field of battle. However. I do have a budding commitment to earlier respondents to my finder post. It appears that my first opponent will be a Lieutenant from the Cradle of Secession. And have been strongly advised to be careful of myself on these initial engagements.

With all due regards to both Generals.

A very warm welcome to you Brad. I love playing electric guitar too, although bass guitar is my main instrument. 8-)
